Week in Review
We started to learn about solid shapes. We completed a math task of making solid shapes and then matching them to a name.
We explored poetry by reading a lot poetry. We then visualized a poem and drew a picture of what we were imagining.

Reading - We are starting our new reading unit "Book Series." We will focus on understanding characters, especially how they respond to problems and how they are alike and different through multiple books. The book series will be read as a book club so groups can discuss their findings.
Writing - After reading many poems, we are starting our new writing unit "Poetry." We will look at objects in the world with a poet's mind, brainstorming ideas about objects, listening for line breaks, and including strong feelings when writing poetry.
Math - We will finish learning about solid shapes. This week we will focus on vertices (corners). Later in the week, we will start our new unit about adding and subtracting larger numbers. We will review fact families and adding and subtracting 5s and 10s.
Science - We will observe soil, sand, and clay to identify similarities and differences.
